Common Cable Types and Characteristics
YJV copper-core PE-insulated PE-sheathed power cable is suitable for indoor installation, tunnels, and pipelines, but it should be noted that this cable cannot withstand pressure and external mechanical forces.
YJV22 copper-core PE-insulated steel-tape armored PE-sheathed power cable can be installed indoors, in tunnels, and directly buried in the soil, and is capable of withstanding pressure and other external forces.
VV32 PVC-insulated fine steel-wire armored PVC-sheathed power cable is suitable for indoor and mine installation and has a certain tensile strength.
VV42 PVC-insulated thick steel-wire armored PVC-sheathed power cable is also suitable for indoor and mine environments and can withstand considerable axial tension.
ZR-VV PVC-insulated PVC-sheathed flame-retardant power cable is suitable for indoor installation, tunnels, and pipelines, but must be protected from external mechanical forces.
ZR-VV22 PVC insulated steel tape armored PVC sheathed flame retardant power cable can be used indoors, in tunnels and directly buried in the soil, and has the characteristics of pressure resistance and external force resistance. ZR-VV32 PVC insulated fine steel wire armored PVC sheathed flame retardant power cable is suitable for indoor and mine laying and has the ability to withstand tension. ZR-VV42 PVC insulated thick steel wire armored PVC sheathed flame retardant power cable is also suitable for use indoors and mines and can resist axial tension. In addition, the cable model usually consists of eight parts, which together determine the performance and application range of the cable. According to the use, it can be divided into the following five types of cables. (1) Power cable Representative models: YJV (cross-linked polyethylene insulation), VV (PVC insulation), suitable for transmission and distribution of electric energy, suitable for fixed laying (such as underground, pipeline). (2) Control cable
Representative model: KVVP (copper core shielded control cable), multi-core structure, shielded layer, strong anti-interference ability. Suitable for connecting electrical instruments and automation equipment signal transmission.
(3) Communication cable
Coaxial cable (such as RG58): used for TV signal and network transmission.
Twisted pair (such as CAT5/CAT6): local area network data transmission.
Fiber optic cable: high-speed, large-capacity communication (such as 5G base stations, data centers).
(4) Special cable
Flame retardant/fire-resistant cable (such as ZR-YJV, NH-YJV): used in places with high fire risk (such as subways and tunnels).
Waterproof cable (such as JHS): underwater equipment and humid environments.
High temperature resistant cable (such as KFF): high temperature workshops such as metallurgy and boilers.
Photovoltaic cable (such as PV1-F): solar power generation system. (5) Overhead cable: no insulation layer or semi-insulated, fixed to the pole by insulators. Suitable for outdoor transmission lines (such as aluminum stranded wire, steel core aluminum stranded wire).
