This section provides a detailed introduction to the models, types, and uses of BV cables for your reference.

BV cable is short for plastic copper cable and stands for general-purpose single-core, rigid-conductor, unsheathed power cable.

BV is the abbreviation for BTV: B stands for type: cloth cable, T stands for conductor: copper, and V stands for insulation: polyvinyl chloride.

Plastic copper cable types

BV cables are further divided into ZR-BV and NH-BV.

ZR-BV: Copper-core, polyvinyl chloride-insulated, flame-retardant cable: The insulation material contains a flame retardant and will not spontaneously ignite in the presence of open flames.

NH-BV: Copper-core, polyvinyl chloride-insulated, fire-resistant cable: It can still function normally under normal fire conditions.

BV cable applications:

General-purpose, single-core, rigid-conductor, unsheathed cable suitable for power plants, household appliances, instruments, and telecommunications equipment with AC voltages of 450/750V and below.

BV Wire Characteristics:

It is acid- and alkali-resistant, oil-resistant, moisture-proof, and mildew-resistant.

Wire Models and Names:

1. Classification and Purpose: Used to distribute current, it belongs to the distribution wire category and is indicated by the letter "B";

2. The conductor material is copper, indicated by the letter "T"; the copper core conductor in distribution wire is omitted;

3. The insulation material is polyvinyl chloride, indicated by the letter "V";

4. Distribution wire has a simple structure. In addition to the three features listed above, some also have a sheath. If the sheath material is polyvinyl chloride, it is also indicated by the letter "V"; if the sheath material is rubber, it is indicated by the letter "X". Wires without a sheath or those with no following are omitted.

For example, BVV represents a copper-core PVC-insulated, PVC-sheathed round wire.

Common BV Wire Diameters:

Common BV wire diameters: 0.75 mm, 1 mm, 1.5 mm, 2.5 mm, 4 mm, 6 mm, 10 mm, 16 mm, 25 mm, 35 mm, 50 mm, 70 mm, 95 mm, 120 mm, 150 mm, 185 mm, 240 mm, etc.

BV flexible wire is designated by BVR, BV rubber-copper wire by BX, BV rubber-aluminum wire by BLX, BV plastic-aluminum wire by BLV, fire-resistant BV wire by NH-BV, and flame-retardant BV wire by ZR-BV.

Applications: Common insulated wire and household wiring, the most commonly used wire type.

For a new 100-square-meter house, a 4-square-meter copper-core BV wire is 200 meters, a 2.5-square-meter wire is 400 meters, a 1.5-square-meter wire is 300 meters, and a 1.5-square-meter copper-core BV two-color wire is 100 meters. The above description applies to installations without a suspended ceiling. If a suspended ceiling is required, 1.5mm wire will be needed.

BV wire diameters come in several sizes: 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 300, 400 square meters.
