BV cable is a copper-core polyvinyl chloride insulated wire and cable, also known as plastic copper wire. It is the most commonly used type of wire and cable and is the type of wire we encounter most frequently in our daily lives. Let's take a closer look at BV cable.
Conductor material for BV cable: oxygen-free copper
Insulation material: PVC
Colors: black, yellow, blue, red, brown, white, etc.
Operating temperature: 60°C, 70°C, 95°C
Rated voltage: 450/750V
The ambient temperature during cable installation must be no less than -15°C.
Allowable cable bending radius:
For cables with an outer diameter (D) less than 25mm, the bending radius must be no less than 4D;
For cables with an outer diameter (D) of 25mm or greater, the bending radius must be no less than 6D.
Finished cables and their cores must undergo a power frequency spark withstand voltage test.
Cable markings must comply with GB6995 and must be clear and abrasion-resistant.
National standard BV cables are used for electrical installations, instruments, interior decoration, telecommunications equipment, power lighting, and wiring with an AC rated voltage of 450/750V or less, or a DC voltage of 1000V or less. They can be installed openly or concealed.
Product standards: GB5023.3-1997 JB8734-98. They comply with IEC CCC standards. National standard BV cable production certificates must bear the 3C certification mark.
The following principles govern the naming of wire and cable products:
BV cables are the most common type of cables used in daily life and are typically installed in conduit. However, their service life must be limited, as failure to do so can lead to aging and fire hazards.
BV cable service life: 10-30 years.
ZRBV cable service life: 15-35 years.
NHBV cable service life: 20-40 years.
WDZBV low-smoke, halogen-free cable service life: 25-35 years.
In addition, the service life of some special models in special environments may vary. It is best to conduct regular inspections every year after 3 years of installation to ensure safe use and protect life and property.
