2. If it's short, apply power to one end and run a test pen along the cable. The neon tube will light up at the active end, and the end that doesn't light up indicates a break. If the cable is too long on the reel, use the capacitance method based solely on the cable length. However, note that since both ends are broken, the capacitance of the entire cable cannot be measured. You need to estimate the capacitance of the entire cable based on experience or previous test records before determining the location of the break.
3. Another particularly effective method is the water bath method, which has an error of no more than 1 meter.
