The designation of mining cables, i.e., the meaning of their model numbers, is as follows.
1. Cable designations consist of eight parts:
The first part is the series code M, which represents the pinyin initials of the Chinese character for "coal" (煤).
The second part is the application characteristic code, which reflects the intended application of the cable. The letters mean as follows: C, for coal mining machines; D, for low-temperature environments; M, for cap lamps; Y, for coal mining equipment (mobile); Z, for electric drills.
The third section is the structural feature code, which indicates the cable's structural characteristics. The letters mean as follows: B, braided reinforcement; J, with monitoring core; P, non-metallic shield; PT, metallic shield; Q, lightweight; R, reinforced wrap.
The fourth section is the material feature code, with E indicating that the insulation or sheath is made of an elastomer. This section is omitted if both the insulation and sheath are made of rubber. E indicates elastomer material.
The fifth section is the rated voltage U0/U (kV).
The sixth section is the number of power conductor cores * nominal cross-sectional area. The two are connected by a multiplication sign, and the unit is square millimeters.
The seventh section is the number of ground conductor cores * nominal cross-sectional area. The two are connected by a multiplication sign, and the unit is square millimeters.
The eighth section is the number of auxiliary conductor cores * nominal cross-sectional area. The two are connected by a multiplication sign, and the unit is square millimeters. The fourth and fifth parts are connected with a “-”; the sixth, seventh and eighth parts are connected with a “+”.
