Sensor signal cables feature four layers of protection: insulation, shielding, wrapping, and sheathing, ensuring accurate transmission of weak electrical signals.

Insulation: Physical and chemical properties comparable to the sheathing. In confined environments, the sheath, shielding, and wrapping can be removed and used as a single conductor.

Wrapping: Made of a carefully selected polymer material, it primarily prevents the shielding from damaging the insulation and also enhances the cable's overall mechanical properties.

Shielding: Made of high-quality metal (copper or tinned copper), it effectively conducts interference signals. The extremely fine wire must be sufficiently resistant to bending to prevent metal debris from affecting other electrical equipment.

Wrapping: Excellent mechanical properties, capable of withstanding high-intensity metal impacts and cuts. It possesses very high tensile strength and can withstand repeated bending over time. Signal cables typically transmit very small signals. To prevent signal interference, they are covered with a shielding layer.

The shielding layer of a shielded cable is typically made of conductive fabric, braided copper mesh, or copper foil (aluminum). The shielding layer must be grounded, allowing any interference signals to be directed to the ground. This prevents interference from entering the inner conductor and causing interference, while also reducing signal loss.
