What is MC cable?

MC cable is a rubber-sheathed flexible cable for coal mining machines, used for power connections to coal mining machines, roadheaders, and similar equipment with a rated voltage of 0.38/0.66 kV.

Characteristics of MC mining rubber-sheathed cables:

1. Rated voltages Uo/U are 0.38/0.66 kV and 0.66/1.14 kV, respectively.

2. The long-term allowable operating temperature of the cable conductor is 65°C.

3. The minimum bending radius of the cable is 6 times the wire diameter.

4. The yellow sheath must not be exposed to sunlight for extended periods.

Meanings of MC cable codes:

M - For coal mining

C - For coal mining machines

What is the difference between MC cable and MCP cable?

MC - Coal mining machine rubber-sheathed flexible cable

MCP - Coal mining machine shielded rubber-sheathed flexible cable

MC is unshielded, while MCP is shielded.
