How to connect cables with different conductor materials and cross-sections?

The metal sheath of power cable has two types: lead sheath and aluminum sheath. Their sealing methods are as follows:

(1) Sealing of lead sheath

1) Rubbing method. Use a gasoline blowtorch or propane gun to heat the lead sealing part, melt the lead sealing rod at the same time, stick the solder to the lead sealing part, and continue heating with a gasoline blowtorch or propane gun. At the same time, use a rag soaked in stearic acid or beef or sheep oil to process the lead sealing into the required shape and size.

2) Pouring method. Use an iron spoon to pour the molten solder in the melting tank to the lead sealing part, and use a rag soaked in stearic acid or beef or sheep oil to rub it back and forth around the lead sheath, pouring and rubbing. After the solder has accumulated to an appropriate amount, use a gasoline blowtorch or propane gun to heat the accumulated solder to soften it, and rub it into the required shape and size.

Compared with the above two process methods, the pouring method has a fast forming speed, tight and strong bonding, and a short solder heating time, which is beneficial to saving energy and avoiding insulation burning. However, the pouring welding method requires a melting pot, iron spoon and other tools to melt the solder, which is more troublesome during construction.

(2) Sealing welding of aluminum sheath. The sealing welding of aluminum sheathed cables is different from that of lead sheathed cables. Lead sealing solder cannot be directly applied to the surface of the aluminum sheath. The aluminum oxide surface must be removed first, and then a special aluminum welding primer is applied to the surface of the aluminum sheath. Finally, the lead sealing solder can be used for sealing. The final sealing process is the same as the sealing welding of the lead sheath and will not be repeated here.
