The following are the main aspects of power cable models and varieties:

Model and Product Designation Methods for Power Cables 35kV and Below

1. The insulation type, conductor material, inner sheath material, and structural features are indicated by capitalizing the first letter of the Chinese pinyin alphabet. For example, Z represents paper (zhi); L represents aluminum (lv); Q represents lead (qian); F represents phase separation (fen); ZR represents flame retardant (zuran); and NH represents fire resistant (naihuo).

2. The outer sheath composition is indicated by a number, which has two digits. No number indicates no armor or outer sheath. The first digit indicates the armor, and the second digit indicates the outer sheath. For example, a thick steel wire armor fiber sheath is indicated as 41.

3. Cable models are generally arranged in the following order based on cable structure: insulation material; conductor material; inner sheath; outer sheath.

4. Cable products are indicated by model number, rated voltage, and specification. The model number is followed by Arabic numerals indicating the rated voltage, number of cores, and nominal cross-sectional area. For example, VV42-10 3×50 indicates a power cable with a copper core, PVC insulation, thick steel wire armor, PVC sheath, a rated voltage of 10kV, three cores, and a nominal cross-sectional area of 50mm².

Codes and Meanings of the Various Components of a Power Cable Model

1. Insulation Type: V represents PVC; X represents rubber; Y represents polyethylene; YJ represents cross-linked polyethylene; Z represents paper.

2. Conductor Material: L represents aluminum; T (omitted) represents copper.

3. Inner Sheath: V represents PVC sheath; Y represents polyethylene sheath; L represents aluminum sheath; Q represents lead sheath; H represents rubber sheath; F represents neoprene sheath.

4. Features: D represents non-drip; F represents phase separation; CY represents oil-filled; P represents oil-poor dry insulation; P represents shielding; Z represents direct current.

5. Control Layer: 0 represents none; 2 represents double steel tape; 3 represents fine steel wire; 4 represents thick steel wire. 6. Outer Sheath: 0: None; 1: Fiber Outer Sheath; 2: Polyvinyl Chloride Sheath; 3: Polyethylene Sheath.

7. Flame-retardant cables are preceded by ZR; fire-resistant cables are preceded by NH.

Oil-Filled Cable Models and Product Designation

YC rubber-sheathed cables and oil-filled cable models consist of the product series code and the cable component codes. Self-contained oil-filled cables are designated by the product series code CY. The outer sheath structure is designated from the inside out by a combination of the codes for the reinforcement layer, armor layer, and outer sheath. The insulation type, conductor material, inner sheath code, and the order of the codes, as well as the product designation, are the same as for power cables 35kV and below. For example, CYZQ102 220/1×4 indicates a self-contained oil-filled cable with copper core, paper insulation, lead sheath, radial copper tape reinforcement, no armor, a polyvinyl chloride sheath, a rated voltage of 220kV, a single core, and a nominal cross-sectional area of 400mm². The outer sheath codes for oil-filled cables are as follows:

1. Reinforcement: 1 represents radial copper tape reinforcement; 2 represents radial stainless steel tape reinforcement; 3 represents radial steel tape reinforcement; 4 represents radial stainless steel tape reinforcement and narrow stainless steel tape reinforcement.

2. Armor: 0 represents no armor; 2 represents steel tape armor; 4 represents thick steel wire armor.

3. Outer sheath: 1 represents fiber layer; 2 represents polyvinyl chloride jacket; 3 represents polyethylene jacket.
