YJV cable is one of the most commonly used power cables. Even today, many people still use the term YJV when referring to cables. YJV cable, as the backbone cable in power transmission, is like blood vessels in humans or arteries in a tree trunk, demonstrating its crucial role in power transmission. YJV cables are often found in urban underground passages (manhole covers) or buried underground. During construction, construction teams often dig and break cables, leading to large-scale power outages. This is particularly true of power cables. Below, we will explain the meaning and characteristics of YJV cable designations.
YJV Cable Overview
y stands for polyethylene, j stands for cross-linked, YJ stands for cross-linked polyethylene insulation, and v stands for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sheath. The first two characters represent double steel tape armor, and the last two characters represent the PVC outer sheath.
YJV, YJLV, and YJV cables are installed indoors, in tunnels, cable trenches, and ducts. They can also be buried in loose soil. The cables are designed to withstand certain pulling forces during installation.
YJV22 and YJLV22 cross-linked polyethylene insulated, steel-tape armored, and polyvinyl chloride sheathed power cables are suitable for indoor installation, tunnels, cable trenches, and direct burial underground. The cables can withstand mechanical forces but not high tensile forces.
YJV32 and YJLV32 XLPE insulated, fine steel-wire armored, and polyvinyl chloride sheathed power cables are suitable for use in high-drop areas and can withstand mechanical forces and considerable tensile forces.
YJV cable production standard: GB/T12706-2008.
YJV Cable Features
1. The maximum allowable operating temperature of the cable conductor is 90°C.
2. The maximum temperature of the cable conductor during a short circuit must not exceed 250°C (for a maximum duration of no more than 5 seconds).
3. The ambient temperature during cable installation must not be lower than 0°C.
4. The minimum bending radius during installation is: 20°C for unarmored single-core cables and 15°C for armored cables. 15°C for unarmored multi-core cables and 12°C for armored cables.
YJV cable products are also classified in many categories, including ordinary type, flame retardant type, fire resistant type, low smoke halogen-free type. YJV cable is generally suitable for power distribution engineering power cables, power transmission engineering wires and cables, electromechanical and hydropower installation engineering cables, power transmission cables, power supply installation system control systems, etc., so its use is still relatively important.
